This mid-century modern house popped up everywhere last holiday season. It was a featured selection on Red Envelope, but sold out fast. After that, homemade variations on its basic theme showed up all over the place. I wonder what imaginative, unexpected creation will wow the gingerbread crowd this holiday season? Maybe some ninja design that we concoct right here.
Check out the modern, environmentally friendly houses on inhabitat, where a Bake for a Change contest promoted thinking on sustainability last year.

UPDATE: 10/1/2008. Found another one! This version appeared on yumsugar.com during the holiday season, 2007. I like the turquoise window on the front of the house, along with sprouting flowers, delicate wreath and candy canes just to the side of the front door.
